custom steel buckle, copper cut-out

This was one for a friend. I had to cut the copper twice because the first attempt at attaching the cutout failed.

For my brother Josh. He loves pit-bulldogs. The phrase is "ITS NOT THE SIZE OF THE DOG IN THE FIGHT ITS THE SIZE OF THE FIGHT IN THE DOG." These copper cutouts were done with a small jeweler's saw....very tedious.

Looks good!

custom steel buckle, 4 piece set, shield

Here is another custom order.

This was the sketch that I sent back after talking with the customer about what he wanted. This was a slight modification from the original pic he sent.

This was an order for four identical pieces. They were all slightly distressed. So even though they were "identical" they each had unique markings.

custom steel buckle, names

I have made many name buckles. Here are 3. This one was for my brother.

Sister in-law birthday.

Brother in-law birthday.
Most of my immediate family can usually guess what they will get from me for their birthday. If not a buckle, something else metal!

Close up of a custom size jewelry tree. 22" tall, 9" round
Very fun to make. Each tree ends up with its own personality and unique style, just like real trees.

This tree is natural steel color with a clear-laquer finish. Some oxidization may occur if kept outside. Inside it should stay this color for quite some time.

I'm never really sure how each tree I make will look until I am well into the fabrication of it. I usually just start and the branches seem to just take shape as I work.

As I position the braches I am very cautious to place each branch in a location that works with design, as well as a functional piece to place jewelry.

custom steel buckle, bottle opener

This is the "BOOM" buckle. This particular request was for the "O" in "BOOM" to be a bottle opener. This was the first bottle opener that I have made. It was a bit of a challenge to make the letters be proportional and still be functional as a bottle opener.
This was the picture I was sent to work from.

The bottle can be opened while wearing the buckle!
Sorry but the video is sideways and I'm not smart enough to move it.

custom steel buckle, pig silhouette

This customer requested a pig silhouette, but did not have one ready. I searched and found this one.

Finished buckle with ball-peen texture and rust patina finish.

more custom work

Here is another finished product. It says "Pop Optic".

This is the sketch that I sent back after our emails and a very basic sketch from the customer. I try to let the customer see what he will get to the best of my ability.
I like this one. I feel it was executed well.

Custom Etsy work

This blogging thing is new for me. I needed another outlet to help me show my Etsy customers and future customers some of my custom work. Here are a couple of custom pieces not seen on Etsy.

Here is the picture I was sent to be made into a buckle.......

This is what I finished and sent them. This piece was a challenge and I really enjoyed making it.
