Custom steel spurs.

When I was first approached about making spurs, I was asked "Have you ever made spurs before?" I said "No, ..... but thats never stopped me before."

These were made for a friend-of-a-friend who lives in Oklahoma and is an actual cowboy!
He will actually use these. I used my friends pair of spurs as a model to follow. His friend from OK sent me his boots to fit the spurs to.

Everything was hand made on these spurs. Even the rowel was hand cut. The name of his company is stamped on the side. The final touch is the rust-patina and hand wax. Maybe in a few months I can get some pics of these things covered on cow manure!

Custom Claddagh, steel belt buckle.

This is the image I was sent. It is the "Claddagh Ring". Which is a traditional Irish ring given as a token of love or worn as a ring.

I was asked to place the hands a little more on, or around the heart.
Here is the finished product.

Railroad spike knife

A few pics of my railroad spike knife. I will be listing this knife for sale soon on Etsy. I am currently working on a sheath of my own design to go along with the knife. I am not a leather worker, but have decided I want my sheath to be made my me as well.

The handle was first twisted red hot, then the twist was hammered flat to create a comfort grip.
Then the blade was forged flat to rough shape.

After the blade was forged it was then sanded and polished. It was then heat treated with "Rob Gunther's SuperQuench" formula, which brings the blade back to a very hard temper.
Final touch is the sharpening and polish.

custom steel buckle, spiral

Here is the picture I was sent. After zooming in to look at the buckle it was very blurry, but I was able to see enough to improvise.

This is the finished product. Actually, quite large. Very prominent.
